Tiny Things, Reimagined
By Ana Mahanna
A close study of small, easily overlooked subjects, reimagined through deliberate inversion. Inspired by a confused ladybug, this piece reverses the natural colors and patterns of both the leaf and the insect, creating a quiet disruption in an otherwise familiar scene. Rendered in colored pencil with selective white detailing in Artistro ink, the work focuses on surface texture, subtle shifts in red and green, and the tension between realism and reinterpretation. Part of an ongoing exploration of how tiny things can become portals into larger ideas when their logic is gently altered.
